Australia's Digital Competitiveness Climbing, Says WEF

Australia's digital competitiveness is growing but it still falls outside the top 10, according to a World Economic Forum report that analyses the ICT environments of different countries. The Global Information Technology Report ranking is based on a combination of factors that fall into four broad categories: The regulatory and business environment; ICT affordability, skills and infrastructure; the use of ICT by individuals, business and government; and the economic and social impact of ICT.

Devices, Data Centres, Software? What Does NZ ICT Industry Spend its Money On?

In New Zealand, spending on technology products and services is forecast to grow to NZ$11.4 billion in 2015, an increase of 2.2 percent from last year. Including both enterprise and consumer technology spending, according to research analyst firm Gartner the Kiwi ICT industry will spend most of its money this year on telecommunications services, including fixed voice and data, as well as mobile voice and data services.

Emerson Network Power gathered over 40 distributors and resellers across Australia for its Channel Conference held at the Crowne Plaza Coogee on April 21st. With the theme “Navigating Today’s Changing Channel Landscape,” the whole-day event featured discussions on how to effectively address evolving customer demands in the light of big data explosion, virtualization, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Emerson’s ANZ leadership led by Gene Hayden, vice president, sales and marketing, Emerson Network Power Asia, and Robert Linsdell, director of national sales, Emerson Network Power ANZ, were present during the event. Key Emerson executives were also flown in from Asia to unveil the latest products and solutions which will address the critical infrastructure needs of today’s businesses.
